We do not use subscriber information for purposes unrelated to our organizational operations, communications, programs, or mission except as permitted or required by law.

3. Email Engagement and Tracking

Our newsletters are distributed and managed through Mailchimp.

To understand how our communications perform and improve our outreach, we may use Mailchimp's tracking and reporting features. Depending on the features enabled, this may include information about:

  • Whether an email was opened;

Our use of email engagement information is intended to help us understand how our community interacts with One Paso communications and improve our outreach. We do not use this information to monitor your general internet activity.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade newsletter subscriber information.

We do not provide our newsletter subscriber list to other organizations, businesses, or individuals for their own independent marketing purposes.

We may use third-party service providers that help us operate our communications, technology, and organizational activities. Our newsletter is currently hosted and managed through Mailchimp.

These service providers may process personal information on our behalf as necessary to provide their services and are subject to their own terms and privacy practices.

5. Use of Artificial Intelligence

One Paso may use artificial intelligence (“AI”) tools as part of our administrative, organizational, communications, and other work-related functions.

For example, we may use AI-assisted tools to help organize information, support administrative tasks, analyze communications, develop materials, or improve organizational workflows.

We do not sell personal information to AI providers or intentionally provide subscriber information to AI systems for the purpose of selling or marketing that information.

When using AI or other technology services, we seek to use information appropriately and limit the information provided to what is reasonably necessary for the relevant organizational purpose.

Some third-party services used by One Paso, including platforms that offer AI-powered features, may process information through their own systems or third-party technology providers. Your information may therefore also be subject to the privacy practices and terms of those services.

6. Children's and Teen Privacy

One Paso creates community-centered content and programs that may be relevant to children and teenagers. Our general newsletter is intended to be appropriate for a broad community audience.

We do not intentionally target children under 13 for newsletter subscriptions or encourage children under 13 to provide personal information to us.

Individuals under 18 should subscribe to the newsletter only with the knowledge and permission of a parent or legal guardian.

If a parent or legal guardian believes that a child under 13 has provided personal information to One Paso without appropriate permission, they may contact us at hello@onepaso.org so that we can review the situation and take appropriate action.

This Privacy Policy applies to our general newsletter. Separate privacy practices, consent requirements, or notices may apply to participation in youth programs, events, services, or other One Paso activities.

7. Data Storage and Retention

Newsletter subscriber information is stored and managed through Mailchimp.

We may retain subscriber information for as long as reasonably necessary for our organizational, administrative, legal, and communication purposes. Newsletter information may be retained indefinitely unless you unsubscribe or request that your information be removed, subject to applicable legal, security, compliance, or legitimate recordkeeping requirements.

When you unsubscribe, we will no longer send you regular newsletter communications. Certain information may remain in our systems or in Mailchimp's records when necessary to honor your unsubscribe request, maintain suppression records, comply with legal requirements, prevent unwanted communications, or maintain appropriate organizational records.

Our newsletters include an unsubscribe option that allows you to stop receiving future newsletter communications.

You may also contact us directly at hello@onepaso.org to request assistance with unsubscribing.

Unsubscribing from the newsletter does not necessarily prevent you from receiving other communications that are unrelated to the newsletter, such as a direct response to an inquiry you submitted to us or communications relating to an existing interaction with One Paso.

9. Access, Correction, and Removal Requests

You may contact One Paso to request access to, correction of, or removal of the personal information we maintain in connection with your newsletter subscription, subject to applicable legal and administrative requirements.

However, no method of transmitting or storing information electronically is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted to us or stored by us or our third-party service providers.

11. Third-Party Services

Our newsletter is managed through Mailchimp. When you subscribe to or interact with our newsletter, certain information may be processed by Mailchimp in accordance with Mailchimp's applicable terms and privacy practices.

We may also use other technology, administrative, communications, or AI-assisted services in connection with our organizational operations.

Third-party services operate independently from One Paso and may have their own privacy policies, terms, and data practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of third-party services when appropriate.
